Wendy Malarkey

2025-02-23

Wendy Malarkey, 67, of Yulee passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025 at The Fountains at Mill Cove in Jacksonville.

Born in New Castle, PA, Wendy was a daughter of Earleen Strehler Malarkey and the late Robert L. Malarkey who passed away in September of 2024.

Wendy moved to Yulee from Jacksonville Beach 15 years ago to help care for her parents. She worked as a bartender in her younger years. Her caring attitude and her ability to relate to people made her a natural for that job. She attended Jones College in Jacksonville. Wendy worked for Citi Bank in Jacksonville where she was a Customer Service Representative and a Client Account Manager. She also worked in Fraud Prevention for Citi Bank.

Always laughing, she was best friends with her sisters and was always fun to be with. She often made everyone feel like she was their best friend. While work and caring for her parents kept her busy she would sometimes be “crafty” and hand make gifts for family and friends.

In addition to her father, Wendy was predeceased by her sister, Sally.

She leaves behind her mother, Earleen Malarkey of Yulee; her sisters, Deborah Williams and her husband, Ricky of Yulee, Kay Logie of Jacksonville and Mary Moore and her husband, Doug of Fernandina Beach, a nephew of whom she always said “he’s my son, not Kay’s”, Justin Logie of Jacksonville and niece, Lauren Ellis and her husband Blane and their two daughters.

Wendy was a special person who meant so much to her family and her friends. There are no immediate plans for a service but her family asks that all who knew Wendy remember her in their own special way.
