My heart is so sad over Tommy’s passing. He was a genuine person and friend to allot of people. We have so many memories while vacationing in Panama City Beach when our kids were growing up. Endless nights playing UNO and laughing at Kyle’s shenanigans. Memories that will always remain with us. Tommy was a kind gentle person and was happy to help whomever he could. There is no doubt he has seen the face of God, He will truly be missed.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Kellie and Kyle and the rest of the family. Tommy was truly a special guy. I am so thankful that I knew him and will always cherish all the conversations we had in the salon years ago. I was able to catch up with Tommy about 7 weeks ago when my AC went out. He talked about his family and how proud he was of all of this. His eyes lit up when he was talking. God received another beautiful angel. Rest In Peace Tommy…..

Thomas B. “Tommy” Edwards, 68, of Callahan passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2021.
He was born in Pensacola, FL and was the son of the late Richard D. Edwards and Yvonne Hickox Edwards.
Tommy lived most of his life in Nassau County. He was a 1973 graduate of West Nassau High School. He retired from Ryder Truck Rental Company after 23 years of service. He then began a second career with Arctic Air of Northern Florida where he was the Service Manager.
From an early age, he was a diehard Florida fan. Some believed he would bleed Orange and Blue if he were cut. His avid following of all things UF was probably the only excess in his life. He was a man of simple things.
Tommy loved Jesus and had an undying devotion to his church, Yulee Baptist Church. He served as a Deacon and was faithful in his church life. He could be found helping at the community Thanksgiving meal, wheelchair ramps or any other task around the church.
Tommy was a faithful man who dearly loved his family. He doted on his grandchildren and always did what he could for them. He will be remembered for his unconditional love, his simple ways and his heart of Gold.
In addition to his father, Richard Dean Edwards, Tommy was predeceased by his sister and brothers, Debbie Armstrong, Ricky Edwards and Davy Edwards.
He leaves behind his children, Kellie McLeod and her husband, Nick of Hampton, FL and Kyle Edwards and his wife, Brandy of Keystone Heights; his mother, Yvonne Edwards of Callahan; his sister, Phyllis Lathorp and her husband, Chris of Callahan; his brother, Mike Edwards and his wife, Marty, also of Callahan; his 5 grandchildren, Mykayla McLeod, Nick McLeod, Jr., Mykenzie McLeod, Kai Edwards and Kinsley Edwards as well as several extended family members.
Funeral services for Mr. Edwards will be held Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Callahan First Baptist Church with Pastor Doug Sides of Yulee Baptist Church and longtime friend, Pastor Edward Dixon officiating. The family will receive friends for the hour prior to the service.
He will be laid to rest beside his father, sister and brother in Hickox Cemetery near Hoboken, GA. This will be a private graveside service for the immediate family only.
Those desiring may make contributions in Tommy’s memory to Yulee Baptist Church, 85971 N. Harts Rd., Yulee, FL 32097.
Keeping COVID 19 in mind, the family asks all who attend to be mindful of social distancing. Those who are unable or uncomfortable attending the service, Tommy’s family would like you to know they understand and covet your prayers.
