Suzanne Lee Massey

2022-02-11

Suzanne Lee Massey, 72, of Fernandina Beach, Florida, passed away in Jacksonville, Florida, on February 11th, 2022.

Born on September 11, 1949, in Norfolk, VA, to the late Noreen and Warren Woodruff, Sue lived the life of a navy family, traveling frequently. The Woodruff family eventually moved to Jacksonville, FL, where she graduated from Forrest High school in 1964.

Shortly after High school, Sue gave birth to her daughter, Michelle. Sometime later, Sue moved to Fernandina Beach, where she met and married her loving husband Bruce Massey, and together they built a beautiful home in Yulee.

During the years of raising her daughter and living on the beach, Sue spent time working at the Family Tree. Sue also enjoyed her time working on an ambulance assisting E. M.T.'s. Before entering her long-term career in the title insurance industry.

Sue had many hobbies and found the most pleasure outdoors working in the gardens around her home. She also appreciated camping, reading, and crafting, especially with gourds. She adored the Wednesday girl's night out with her friends and spending quality time with her family. Sue loved all animals but had a special place in her heart for cats and dedicated much of her time volunteering at Cats Angels.

Sue’s witty, yet caring personality will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her. She leaves behind her sister, Teresa Levine, brothers Chuck and Gary Woodruff. Her three Granddaughters Ashlyn, Danielle, Lauren Haley, her cat sago, her grand-dog Clyde and many lifelong friends.

Suzanne is preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle Crofton, and her husband, Bruce Massey.

A celebration of life will be held privately at Sue's home for family and close friends. On March 6th, 2022, at 1 p.m. Please contact Ashlyn for further information at haleyash21@gmail.com.

Donations may be made in Sue's memory to Cat’s Angels.
