If you are blessed to have a few really good friends, the kind that you can pick up exactly where you left off, no matter the time or distance that separate you, then you have what Sue and I had for over 30 years. The last time I saw Sue I chided her about wearing Crocs with bare legs in winter :-) The last time we texted, we hazed each other about the Illinois-Purdue game (Boiler up!). I think I will miss her laugh the most, and not being able to pick up the phone 24/7 just to talk to her. Sue was a cherished gift in my life that I am eternally grateful for.

Sue was my pledge mom at Alpha Gamma Delta at University of Illinois. She was a great inspiration and helped a lost south side of Chicago girl understand the fun aspects of being sorority girl!!! đŸ„° She was also an awesome knitter at that time. She inspired me to love Interior Design. Love you sister, you will be missed.

How I remember all of the Dickson sisters from the Long Grove ‘hood! I was so happy to reunite with her (and you) when we moved to Savannah. She was so gracious and kind to help me figure out my master closet setup! I still remember the two of standing close together in my closet and me receiving her directions. :)

Sue was a neighbor when the Wagners lived in Beavercreek. She always had a warm smile and her laugh was hearty. God bless her and her beautiful family.

2024-10-16

Requiem Mass for Susan Dickson Wagner, Age 67, will be held on Saturday, November 16th, 2024 at 10 AM at Holy Trinity Anglican Church at 2830 Lake Park Drive, Fernandina Beach.

Susan was born September 28th, 1957 in Highland Park, Illinois and passed away peacefully on October 16, 2024 in Fernandina Beach, Florida.

She was the beloved wife of Gerald J Wagner, loving mother of Andrew, Sarah (Jeremy) Flora , Matthew (Macey), Philip (Lexi); adored grandmother of four, Jordan and Beckett Flora, William and Jackson Wagner; Sister to her twin Nancy (Jeff) Moore, Janet (Peter) Bacher, and Sandy Shireman; Aunt "Soup" to Douglas (Kerry) Moore, Thomas (Kealy) Moore, Julia (Dan) Miller, Cassie Bacher, Nicole Bacher, and Greg Shireman.

Sister-in-law to Jim (Darlene) Wagner and Nancy Bolt. Aunt Susan to Billy Jo (Tony) Nowak and Jamie (Joe) Heinmiller.

Susan graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in interior design, but she found her true calling in education. She was a high school diving coach for 12 years and a substitute teacher for middle and high school for 15 years.

Her favorite hobby/passion was quilting. Susan took greatest pleasure in gifting literally hundreds of quilts to others. It was her way of wrapping them in love.

Susan was an incredible mother. Even from states away, her love was felt in many ways each and every day. Whether it be a phone call, sharing Pinterest recipes, or saying goodnight to the grandkids over the home cameras, her joyous presence was abundantly there.

She fought a brave 7-year battle with stage 4 lung cancer but her strength, positive attitude, and kindness towards others never wavered.

In lieu of flowers and in honor of her love for teaching kids, donations may be made to Holy Trinity Church Lindesfarne Hall Classical School.
