Stanley James Clements

2022-11-22

Mr. Stanley (Stan) James Clements, age 61 of Fernandina Beach, Florida passed away on the afternoon of Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Baptist Medical Center Nassau.

Stan was born on April 16, 1961 in Regensburg Germany to the Charles (Buck) Franklin Clements Jr. and Mary Cason Clements. Stan grew up in Martinez, Georgia and as a preteen accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. He earned his GED and went on to earn his Class 1 Water Treatment License for Public Water Works. He served the public in this capacity in Columbia, Richmond, and McDuffie Counties.

Stan moved to Fernandina Beach, Florida where he met Cheryl Newton and continued his working career as a construction worker, a grounds keeper at the Ritz Carlton, at Halls Convenience Store, and as a bar tender at the Hammer Head bar. He loved the ocean and the Fernandina area taking part in local activities of swimming, fishing, sailing, and simply walking on the beach. Often, he was visited by his mother and father with whom he enjoyed fishing off the pier.

Stan was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan, with a carefree spirit who never met a stranger and was loved by all. All of those he befriended were friends for life and knew of his contagious laugh and his “too cool” approach to life. He also loved training dogs and a few of his favorite companions through the years were Luna, Ellie, and Bully Grunt. He loved music of all types and loved to play it loud to share with his neighbors so that they could sing along too.

He joins in Heaven his dad - “Pappy” Buck Clements & great nephew Luke Earnest. He leaves behind his girlfriend of more than 11 years Cheryl Newton, His mama – Mary Clements, sister - Sonya (David) Earnest, three nephews - Justin (Johanna) Earnest, Benjamin (Rochelle) Earnest, Robert (Kelsey) Earnest, His great nephews and great niece – Shawn, Ryan, Adam, and Elizabeth; along with many other family members and friends that will cherish many memories of him for generations.

A graveside service to be held in the future in Seville, Georgia.
