Scott William Lawhorne, a lifelong resident of Fernandina Beach, Florida, passed away from natural causes on October 17, 2023, at the age of 66. He was born on May 29, 1957.
Scott is survived by his wife, Susie Jones Lawhorne, and their two children, daughter Rebecca Ashley Lawhorne and son William Royce Lawhorne and honorary son Tito DeJesus. He is also survived by his father, Royce Lawhorne, and his brothers Archie and Richie Lawhorne. Additionally, he leaves behind a legacy of love for his many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins across the United States. Scott was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Lawhorne, and his brother Larry Lawhorne.
Scott was a man of deep faith and could be found in Bible study groups, curiously pondering God's plan and encouraging those around him. Scott's kind smile and warm presence left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a source of strength and support to those around him, always willing to offer a listening ear.
A memorial service to celebrate Scott's life will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Living Waters Church. The family kindly invites all friends, acquaintances, and community members who knew and cherished Scott to join them in this service as we honor his memory and share stories of his life.
