Prince George Sherrod
2023-11-29
Prince George Sherrod was born on February 8, 1968, in Augusta, Georgia.
The family moved to New York City in 1970 then back to Florida in 2004, where he pursued a career in welding and obtained his CDL. He worked as a truck driver for AmeriGas Propane and UPS.
Prince was a fun-loving person. He was “Uncle” to all of the children. He enjoyed cooking and would always ensure we had plenty of meat! At family gatherings he would take time with the children, constantly referring to each as “Uncle Babies” with guarantees of fun and store runs. Prince is the epitome of a “Mama’s Boy” and family mattered the most to him.
Whenever he could take a moment to himself, his favorite pastime was listening to Bishop Noel Jones and Kervy Brown. Every phone call began and ended with “Good God Bless You!”
On Wednesday, November 29, 2023, Prince passed away peacefully at home in Yulee, FL. He is preceded in death by his beloved sister Nicole Pinkney, nephew Dontaé Pinkney and Godbrother Demetrius Murray.
Prince leaves to mourn his passing his only child Abigail Williams-Sherrod, of Culpepper, VA; his parents Alvin and Ludine Pinkney, of Yulee, FL; his siblings Jesse Sherrod, of New York, NY; Grace Pinkney, D’Wonda Pinkney and Joshua Pinkney, all of Yulee, FL; Tracy Pinkney, of Columbia, SC; Willie Jones (Cassanddra), of Jacksonville, FL; Jessica Austin, Lakeshia Sherrod, Jessica Sherrod (Holmes), Manoyia Moore, Latesha Moore (Beale), Natasha Moore, Ebony Moore (Bates), Kasonya Moore (Wilcox), all of Augusta, GA; his closest uncles Prince Green and Isadora Harold, both of Augusta, GA; his closest nieces and nephews Carmen Pinkney, of Jacksonville, FL; Prince Sherrod of New York, NY; Alexis Wilson, Destin Wilson-Jones (Caycoo), Tyberias Wilson, Joseph Pinkney, Egypt Wilson and Trinity Wilson all of Fernandina Beach/Yulee, FL; his great nieces and nephews Justice and Justina Turner of Jacksonville, FL; Prince Jordan Sherrod and Khloe Farrell, both of New York, NY; Jamal and Jordan Bartley, and Julianna Watson, all of Fernandina Beach, FL; Wisdom Pinkney of Savannah, GA; Kai Jones of Yulee, FL; his Godmother Betty Murray, of New York, NY; his Godsisters and Godbrothers, Desiree Murray, Elijah Williams, Kesha Williams, Andrina Quarterman, Derrick Owens, Ben Owens, and Princess Baylock; and a host of extended family including aunts, uncles, cousins and many loving friends.
