Michael Jude Sass of Fernandina Beach, FL passed away November 4, 2022 at home with his partner in life, for just over 46 years, Pamela Fisher Sass.

Born on February 11, 1945 in Ft. Lewis, Washington to the late John Francis Sass and Jean Frances Fitzgerald Sass. Michael grew up in Tawas City, Michigan, along the coast of Lake Huron, attended St. Joseph Elementary School, Tawas City High School, Michigan State University, joined the United States Navy then graduated from FCCJ in Jacksonville, FL. During his time at FCCJ he met Pamela, worked at the Amelia Island Care Center and began his 35 year career at UPS.

Michael cared about few possessions other than his ball glove and hockey stick. He did, however, cherish his family and friends, many of whom have preceded him in death: Ron Deering, Faris Vincent, Gary Largin, Tom Tyson, Ken Baker, Pat Rider, John Mc Kissic, Debbie Benedict, Carol Miller, Bruce & Sue Massey, brothers-in- law, Ray Prager, Jim Roti and cousins, Ron Steineman and Peter Selby.

Michael's joy came from trading stories with anyone and everyone. He leaves behind those stories with his family: John, Sally, Jessica, Chrystian, and Zoe Sass, Jim, Olive, Jason, Jayne, Christopher, Devon, and Cole Sass, Georgia, Tashira and Siarra, Glen & Mary (Sass) Kendall, Patrick, Angie, Jimmy, Danny, and Katie Roti, Phillip Roti, Geri Prager, Jonathan, Sara, Roman and Jet Prager, Julia, Kevin, Donovon, Tessa and Khloe Rossi, James, Kirsten, Tennyson and Kynziton Prager, Sarah, Dennis, Delylah and Kade Michael Boren. Michael never met a child or animal he didn't like.

Michael will be laid to rest at the National Cemetery in Jacksonville, FL on February 2023.
