Loren “Eddie” Pratt, 90, of Fernandina Beach, Florida passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025, in the kind care of Warner Hospice in Fernandina Beach, Florida.
Born on April 18, 1934, to Hobart Pratt and Mildred Allen, he began his life in Ninevah, New York, before relocating to Fernandina Beach, Florida, following his marriage to Gay Patricia Winant Pratt. After marriage, he made a living between shrimping and driving trucks while the couple built a family: sons, Larry, Randy and John.
Eddie generally took pleasure in learning how to take things apart to see how they worked, fishing and cooking; his sons fondly recall him pitting for all of them while riding motor cross when they were young. He leaves behind sons, Randy Pratt and John Pratt, both of Fernandina Beach, Florida.
A viewing opportunity will be available on Thursday, February 6, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Oxley Heard Funeral Home (1305 Atlantic Ave, Fernandina Beach). He will be laid to rest on Friday, February 7, 2025 at 11:00am at Bosque Bello.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to Cats Angels.
