Laura Juanita Ryals, 96, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2025 at her home in Yulee.

She was born in Hoboken, GA and was the daughter of the late Josh and Matilda Sweat Crews. She was the widow of the late Clyde Carroll Ryals.

She had retired from the Nassau County School Board where she worked in food service operations. Mrs. Ryals was a longtime member of Springhill Baptist Church were her funeral will be held Thursday, March 6th beginning at 11:00 AM with Pastor Brian Winburn officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 5th from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Ryals will be laid to rest beside her husband in the church cemetery.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her children, Wayne Ryals and Patsy Ryals Nixon.

She leaves behind her son-in-law, Edward Nixon; her grandchildren, Josh Ryals, Laura Brooks and her husband, B. J. Walker; Kevin Mixon and Stephanie Dutton; several nieces and nephews including Jimmy and Molly Parker, Russell and Linda Rosnau; Lisa Smicker, Iris McSwain, Martha and Roy Mills, Sonny and Patti Ryals and Jenny Manning as well as several great and great-great grandchildren.
