When they lived on Jefferson Street and Ken & I were in school at the old Manual, He was my first boyfriend. I loved him dearly, but skipping. College to wait for a sailor just wasn’t for me..Sadly, I lost my snapshots from those days. Condolences to the family.

Kenneth Franklin Crotz, Sr.

Kenneth Franklin Crotz Sr. of Fernandina Beach, Florida passed away peacefully on January 9, 2022 at the Warner Center for Caring.

He was born on Mother’s Day, May 10, 1936, in Peoria, Illinois to the late Earl Eugene Crotz and Betty Darlene Reed. He grew up in Peoria, Illinois and graduated from Manual High School in 1954. After graduating he joined the Navy and became a Navy Corpsman.

He met and married Barbara Sutton in San Diego California and had four children with her. He left the Navy soon after he was married because he did not want to spend long periods of time away from his family. After the Navy he became an aerospace machinist and later spent time working in various successful jobs. He was an avid Golfer, played AAA fast pitch softball and refereed youth sports.

He leaves behind his four children, Lynnan A. Davidson, Karen L. Crotz, Kenneth F. Crotz Jr. and Jon Michael Crotz. Also, his two siblings Cheryl Brown and Marilyn Crotz survive him.

In keeping with Mr. Crotz’s wishes, there are no services planned at this time.
