I'm so sorry Mrs. Donny. Just remember the great and precious loving memories. His legacy went be forgotten is all the sweet, loving moments he did and helped everyone. We all love and will miss him but he's in our hearts and mind if a Great Man of love and fought for his country. I'll be getting off work to try and come to the grave sight. Jack Tot Sowell

Mr. Jack Tot Sowell, 81, of Yulee passed away at Lakeside Nursing and Rehabilitation in Jacksonville on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.
Born in Blackshear, GA he was a son of the late Tot W. and Myrtle Courson Sowell.
He served his country in the U. S. Army and after his service he moved to Yulee in the early 1960’s. Mr. Sowell worked for many years for the State of Florida at the U. S. 17 Weigh Station as a Weight Inspector. He retired after over 30 years’ service.
He always enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved gardening as long as he was able to. He also had a favorite past time of being part or a group who visited together daily at the Huddle House. Above all else he really enjoyed being at home and his quiet times there.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Shirley in 2014 and his siblings, Jerry Sowell, Donny Sowell and Joyce Dickens.
He leaves behind his children, Donny Jean (Randy) Keith of Fernandina Beach and Jack Tot (Dena) Sowell, II of Claxton, GA; two brothers, Tracy (Lavinia) Sowell of Eastman, GA and Travis (Mary) Sowell of Springfield, MO; three grandchildren, Amber Ponce, Shannon Keith and Tina Horgan; 12 great-grandchildren, Zaylyn, Emillio, Adalline, Adrien, Tyler, Wyatt, Keith, Paisley, Marley, Kyle, Paige and Lexie and three great-great-grandchildren, Aayna, Briella and Eloise.
Funeral services for Mr. Sowell will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 9, 2023 in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 AM.
He will be laid to rest beside his wife later the same day at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery near Blackshear, GA at 3:30 PM.
